Luisa Via Roma – The History – look 5
Look 5 from my shoot in Florence with Luisa Via Roma. This was the second look I shot. Before I even entered the store I knew I wanted to shoot this sweater from Isabel Marant. I adore knitwear and I loved how unique this style was; the padded shoulders are my favourite aspect but who can you not love the laser cut detail. This sweater also look amazing with a lace bodice underneath or nothing at all (if you have more confidence than me or a smaller chest than me.) This sweater also comes in burgundy here.
I love, love, love these Ellery pants. I love everything about Ellery. I love how they can create such a dramatic look with just one colour palette because the design is all about the cut and shapes. You can wear these trousers with endless outfits and what else would you want what you have flared trousers that also show your shoes….. WINNING.
This bag stole my heart and it is one of the items I can not stop thinking about. I adore this shade of grey, with the blue undertone. I love the other colours too, pink and lilac. This bag comes with a strap too. I love how elegant it looks and I like the way it fastens. I thought the bag was the perfect accessory to match my Maison Michel hat. Luisa Via Roma have the best selection of Maison Michel hats, click here. They are the perfect accessory for winter.
I wanted to talk about the Luisa Via Roma store seeing as this was one of the reasons why I shot this look book in Florence. I have been shopping on the Luisa Via Roma website for nearly two years and I had no idea they had a boutique. When I found out about it I was desperate to see it. I wanted to share the story with you so you can understand the history of the brand. I personally love the story and it makes me love Luisa Via Roma more because it started and still is a family business. You will be abel to see more of the store when my video is published next week. But for now you just need to know that it is full of the best, luxury brands; I can only describe it as a pix a mix of design luxuries. The store is huge, three floors and full to the brim. Trust me, when you enter you will not know where to look.
The History of the LVR Store
The brand started in 1890 (yes so long ago) in Paris as a hat shop. In 1906 the company decide to move to Florence for a relaunch (bigger and better) or pretty much go bust. Thankfully in 1930 they went for it and opened a store in Via Roma, Florence. I love how relatable this story starts out, it is a great example of everything and everyone starts somewhere. The store in Florence is one of the oldest stores in town.
In 1999 the store went online and have been tech savvy ever since. I love how forward thinking the brand is in terms of customer service and on the blogging sphere. Luisa Via Roma first hosted a blogger event in 2010; Firenze 4 Ever. They host this event every year for top bloggers and it is a huge goal of mine to make it some day. You know I never give up on my dreams and I will not stop trying until I get there. Watch out for the tags on social media next summer, it really is a major event, they pretty much shut down Florence.
Luisa Via Roma, translate to seven languages, offer free shipping to fifty countries and ship to one hundred and twenty five destinations, worldwide. The free shipping is a huge bonus, I am pretty sure they are the only on line luxury store that ofer free shipping. I purchased this item here two days ago at 7pm and it arrived this morning, with free shipping! How can you not be impressed with that. If you would like to see how this item looked on me, stay tuned for my next article or head to my YouTube channel because I am uploading an unboxing video next week.
Another fantastic service Luisa Via Roma offer is “pre ordering from the catwalk”. I love this option as it saves me lots of anxiety. I love it that the website uploads pre ordered items, this means you can pay upfront for items that are not even out yet. When they come in stock they get shipped out immediately. Most of the time the pre order items I have bought usually come sooner than the estimated delivery time.
I highly recommend paying the store a visit if you are ever in Florence. Florence is a beautiful place, Paris and I totally fell in love with it. If you would like to know where we stayed or the places we visited; please stay tuned for my next couple of articles. My video will go live on my channel next Sunday, here you can see all the looks and lots of exciting footage of the store. Paris and I have worked so hard on the video, I am really excited to share it with you.
In the mean time you can watch this little video, which will show you more about the history of LVR.
