I wanted to start this post with saying thank you to the girl who took these photos for me. I met a follower in Starbucks which was amazing and very shocking to me that someone would know who I was, specially someone from America! If you are reading this please email me so I have your details 🙂 Thank you for the amazing photos.
Looking back at my photos I defiantly dressed for comfort for MBFW, I can not describe to you how cold it was so I really had to reconsider some of the outfits I wanted to wear. Believe it or not I packed my suitcase at 2am and left for the airport at 5am so I literally spent 30 mins on my suitcase. I didn’t plan any looks because I had a really busy day finishing up with Chelsea Styling. I also think that me wearing wearable outfits is good for my readers so you can wear what I wear too in your everyday life. The point of a blog is so inspire others what to wear or buy or am I wrong? Would you prefer to see more glamorous looks? Either way I will include a few more evening and dressy looks too. I loved this tan hat from Miss Selfridge it goes with pretty much everything I own and is the only tan/brown item I own. My jeans are H&M and were a huge bargain at £7, which balances out the £1500 Blamain jacket (that was 70% from the OUTNET) but I found a similar one here. My shoes were featured of Talk Shoes instragram page, did anyone spot them? Have you seen the new Stella sneakers for summer? I love them and defiantly going to be buying some.
My first show of the day was Korean brand SON JUNG WAN, if I am honest I had heard of this brand but was not familiar with the previous collections. so I was interested to see how I felt about the brand after the show. I can honestly say this show made me fall in love with the brand and it will be one show I would like to follow from now on. Kelly Rutherford and Kim Kardashain have been seen wearing the Son Jung Wan designs and I can certainly see why.
Each look was wearable, unique and I love how Son Jung Wan pairs a sequin dress with a fur hem and the majority of the looks were separates as opposed to one pieces which makes the collection so wearable. I am a huge fan of metallics so I was super excited to see this bronze, silver and a gold palette dominate the collection. The mixture of fabric and textures blew me away. I felt like this collection was so current and had a young feel to it even though it could be worn by a very wide age demographic. I took a close up photo of the shoes because I NEED A PAIR!! This show left me wanting to buy a pair of metallic shoes and an entire metallic outfit.
I also met a Gossip Girl icon; Kelly Rutherford after the show too 🙂
The second show of the day was MONIQUE LHUILLIER. I shop for elite clients who love high end evening wear so I am very familiar with this brand and fully aware of the exquisite details. Lhuillier is a pretty band that makes women feel totally glamorous however this collection was slightly more edgy with the darker fabrics and skulls believe it or not, although you would have to know there were skull reference to see it. The looks were paired with mules which made each dress look current and on trend. Over all it was a nice dramatic twist which took me by surprise and makes me excited to see the next collection! I am sure we will be seeing some of these impressive wrks of art on the runway this year.
